By 2023, Lin-gang Special Area is expected to be built into a domestically leading State-level intelligent manufacturing demonstration area with international influence and a distinct system, according to the recently issued three-year (2021-23) action plan for intelligent manufacturing.

In line with the five-year (2021-25) plan for urban digital development in the Lin-gang Special Area, the three-year action plan will promote the construction of 50 intelligent factories. Five benchmarking factories will be built for the advanced manufacturing and strategic emerging industries, such as integrated circuits, artificial intelligence, biomedicine and aerospace.

In addition, Lin-gang will build five intelligent manufacturing system service providers, and the area's system service providers will be encouraged to participate in the construction of Lin-gang intelligent factories.

Meanwhile, intelligent manufacturing industrial parks will be built based on the existing industrial parks.

Lin-gang Special Area will also comprehensively promote the upgrading of new digital infrastructure such as a digital technology platform and a systematic management system for intelligent factories.
